Loose Wire on Duncan Hot Rails

I have an old Seymour Duncan Hot Rails (b) pickup which has a loose wire on the bottom. This bare wire comes from the bundle of wires and looks as though it may have been connected to a wire which touches a magnet. So, is my pickup useable? Do I need to resolder this wire to something? I'm including a pic.

The pickup will work fine, but that wire grounds the blades, which is a good thing. You should resolder it.

Thank you very much! Your response was educating. I'm guessing that this wire will be fine if it is soldered to the main blob of solder. Is this right?

id think so.. will take longer to heat the iron that solder that wire..lol

Yeah try to get on and off quickly, and just catch the solder ball closest to the wire. The connection doesn't have to be great, there's no audio there, just noise reduction through the blades being grounded.

Thanks, you two. The original connection seems fragile... I wonder how often this happens with this type of pickup.
