Lots of EJ fuzz faces on ebay

Chickenwings

Alnico 6/8
I love fuzz faces. I love the sound, i love the simplicity, i love how they change color with a flick of your guitar's volume knob. Its taken me nearly 30 years, but ive reduced my (rock music) pedal chain down to one pedal. Don't know why i never did this in the past.
I usually use a Hartman NKT, but im looking around for a backup/alternative sound for gigs. Maybe another hartman germanium (but he doesn't offer nkt's anymore) or possibly a silicon just for an alternative sound (ill prolly go hartman again). But geez....there is something so cool about the big round enclosure that that boutique pedals can't emulate.

Anyway, when i type in fuzzface into ebay and click "used" there seems to be a lot of eric johnson models on the market. Lots of the blue Jimi ones too of course and the red ones, but seeing that the EJ is only a new release its interesting to see how many people are flipping them. Not many Bonamassa models around tho.....
Anyone who has played with an EJ, and indeed the JH or JB models, let us know what you found. I know TG will chime in shortly! Cheers folks.

Re: Lots of EJ fuzz faces on ebay

One possible reason: There are more EJs than JBs out there. The JB 'face was a more limited issue.

Another reason: Maybe the EJ just isn't clicking with people. I don't know.

Agree with you about 'faces being magic. There's more drama, power and bullheadedness in a good fuzz face than in most distortions or overdrives.
