Hey, does anyone no where you can buy a LP body and neck blank (1 piece of course) that is of very high quality and finished ? I want to build an LP style guitar, and was looking at going this way! I know some folks will buy some of the Rondo's and what not and strip the inferior parts off them and replace them. Thanks

Re: LP Blank : body and neck

For unfinished (raw wood), Musikraft.com has been making high quality LP kits for the last few years.

On Ebay there's a seller, think it's stratosphere, that buys and parts out guitars- and I've seen a few Les Paul Studio bodies out there. No one parts out the higher end Les Paul.

Both routes are not cheap, and you save money by just buying a used Les Paul Studio

Re: LP Blank : body and neck

real set neck style or bolt on?

one piece body or just one piece neck?

Re: LP Blank : body and neck

If you want a finished kit, then a 'shell' of a gibson will be the best bet. Kits will almost always require finishing, or being sent off to finish.
The other poster mentioned the Stratosphere, but he also does a gibson version called Gibsondependable. Its usually Studios, but there's been a Classic 60 and a Trad pro too from when I've checked

Re: LP Blank : body and neck

Have you thought of making the neck or body? If you are starting out with building, then start with something like a telecaster or strat. Carved top, neck angles, angled headstocks, binding, set necks etc on a Les Paul are a little bit more advanced.

If I am correct, you are interested in building right?

Re: LP Blank : body and neck

One I found while trawling the web was by UMO Asia
Their Metinar guitar series are pretty much fully assembled bodies except for hardware pickups etc

They have an SG, ES-335 and Les Paul style

I don't have any experience with them but from the videos they sound pretty decent (especially the SG kit)

I found em on E-Bay so I guess they ship internationally
