LP neck humbucker help

Okay, so I have this great LP copy. I'm getting a Super Distortion from Kac for the bridge spot, but now I need a neck pickup.

I've been leaning heavily towards a JB, since from the descriptions and clips I've heard of one in the neck spot, it sounds like just what I'm going for. (A thick, fluid, singing lead tone)

That said, I have basically no experience with pickups - so, does anyone have any other suggestions? :beerchug:

Edit: Forgot to mention, I play everything from classic rock, hard rock, to metal. So versatility is a must.

With a Super Distortion you might want to try a Paf Pro , the JB is too hot for neck .

My original thought was a Jazz, but I thought it might be a little too bright for what I'm looking for. :smack:

My fave for neck is the Jazz but it is a very hi-fi pickup .
If you want more power and less definition go pafpro .

Well, now hold on a second. While the JB is certainly hot, it isn't useless for the neck. Some guitarists use the jb for splitting, and it's great in either spot for that. Also understand that the neck of your guitar doesn't have to be reserved solely for playing pretty cleans. It does have a very thick sound, and it will sing (albeit in a different register in the neck).

And then here's the last little secret- the jb combined with the right bridge pickup (probably a hotter pup like a Custom) in the middle position can create a brilliantly snappy, yet warm clean tone.

You could also wire the pickup to a Spin-A-Split and have just as much or as little "JB" as you want.

I thought of that as well...I could do Vol / Vol / Master Tone / Spin-A-Split for neck pickup.
