Lynch 7 string pickup??

Hey.. Just found this pup in a customers guitar during a pickup swap..

He wanted the stock bridge pup on his Ibby 7-string replaced with a Duncan Custom.. looking at the pup before dissaasembly, it didn't look like a Dimarzio... looked like a Duncan Screamin Demon...

when i got it out.. definately NOT a dimarzio, its got Duncan wiring AND.....its got Lynch 4/2000 written on the back!

I've never heard of a Screamin Demon 7-string pickup...

It specs out to 11.7K total and about 5.9 on the singles.. (roughly)

anybody know anything about this pup??

Ive ran into them a couple times before. Always been told they were a custom shop deal. The markings would lead me to believe this in this case also. Pretty cool really

Thanks... my google spelunkering has not been able to turn anything up on it!


It actually has a good sound to it.. just not enough low end for the customer.. and the Custom does fit his application better (industrial metal) I went with the Custom becasue I put a duncan distortion in the other guitar players ibby last fall. and i think the result was worth the investment for him.

but this puppy might be a keeper rather than a re-seller!

If hes swapping out his neck pickup too it might be worth a shot to try it in that slot too.

The custom probably does do industrial better. The Screamin demon is more vintage sounding. But it can make a sweet neck pickup up. Its definitely one you dont see every day

12BJ would usually be a Screamin' Demon wound by MJ. It also says Lynch on the bottom, AND has the same screw configuration.

Yeah, replace it with the Custom and E-Bay it to someone that wants a disappointment. (Yes, I hate the Demon.)

OK... that helps a bit.. that showed me where to start digging.... found the links to the pre-02 stickers....

Nice.. Now i know a LOT more than i did before i posted this thread... AWESOME!!!

I dont HATE the demon.. persay.. just doesn't fit my style either.. (but.. I;m a gain junkie!)
