Hi All, I am new here and am hoping someone here could provide some help.i am in the process of ordering a Custom Built Charvel. It will have a Maple body, Maple neck/board,OFR,1hum/1sc layout. I going for the Lynch tone thing and have chosen the TB 6 Duncan Distortion for the bridge but I am at a loss as to what pickup I should put in the neck postion. I love the buttery smooth tone I get from the neck pickup in my Les Paul Custom,it is the stock paf I believe.

Re: Lynch Style

welcome to the forum!!

the lil 59 or cool rails gets a nice clean tone thats a little more gibson like, less treble and more mids and output. it still doesnt sound like a fullsize humbucker but its more in that direction. some people like a hot rails in the neck for that tone but i think they other two sound better clean.

are you using the push pull pot for the pup selector?

Re: Lynch Style

Back when George used the Distortion in the bridge, I think he used a SSL-1 in the neck a majority of the time, until he went with ESP, then it was one of their single-coils. It was primarily for clean tones only at that time. If you want quiet, one of the rail models, cool or vintage, would work good.

Re: Lynch Style

I am actually going to have a 3 way toggle. I was leaning towards the lil 59 before i came to this forum si Iguess that will be the pick/up of choice.
