I just found an australian on Ebay selling Alnico 2,3,4,5 and ceramic 8..
just wondering if anybody has ever mucked around with magnet swaps on these pickups
Im having an internal battle with the Jb at the moment: yeah its a great all rounder and it cuts through like a knife but its just lacking some sort of warmth/tone/character
the jazz is pretty great, but its abit shrill on the top strings.. does anybody else find this?
lacking abit of tonal depth in my ears but i guess thats the trade-off for the articulation!
So... could magnet swaps be my answer??? any input is really appreciated!
