Magnet direction

So I got my UOA5 magnets. How do you know which way they go in?
Or just shove um in and crap shoot on weather the middle postion is Peter Green or not?

pull the existing magnet half way out and match the polarity to whats in there already.
How might one go about doing that?
Am I looking for tge existing magnet to attract the other to determine polarity?
And am I looking end to end or top of magnet face to bottom of the other.

typical bar magnets are 2.5"x0.5"x0.125"

the plane of magnetism is across the 0.5" dimension. north on one side, south on the other. gently pull the existing magnet half way out. and the south side of the new magnet will stick to the north side. note which is which, put it aside, gently remove the old magnet, then gently slide the new one in making sure to use the correct orientation.

you need to be a little careful so you dont break any wiring connections, but with care, its not a hard process that anyone should be able to do

my wife broke a neodymium bar magnet by accidentally bringing it too close to another one. the magnetic pull slammed them together breaking one in half, luckily her fingers didnt get pinched too badly
