Make Your Own GraphTech Type Saddlws

Hey Guys, As I'm looking at GraphTech Saddles for Strat I am seeing that they have basically just painted some substance on the saddle where the string rests. What is that substance/paint/magical material? and I was wondering if anybody has successfully "made their own" saddles? Not actually MAKE them, but coat that part of the saddle with some sort of stuff? If so, lay it on me! What did you use?

No they aren’t. GraphTech saddles are made from a proprietary ceramic/metallic substance. I used to know the name of the stuff, but I forget.

The metal saddles have an insert. It’s not paint.

I don't think the effort required would be worth it. The saddles aren't too expensive, and as stated, are a proprietary material. I dig them.

Yeah... I suppose you guys are right. I was just wondering if anybody ever tried some sort of paint-on material that worked. Closing this thread.
