Yes, I do like his tone, throw your stones metal snobbers. I wonder what is his set up ??? I always see his Marshall cabs on stage when he plays rythm I think I hear JCM800 but when he breaks a lead I think I hear Iommi Laney darkness ... it also sounds that he uses some sort of OD or no OD or distortion at all but just hot rodded amp and maybe some very sutble chours .... anybody knows for sure ??? Thank Dudes

I love listening to their stuff, in fact I'm listening to it right now! A lot of those tones sound just like humbuckers going into hot-rodded amps like modded marshalls or something, surely they wouldn't have got much more complicated than that.

And I totally agree......MANOWAR OWNS US ALL!!!

Well it's part of Dawks whole thing to not give away too many secrets...but he does custom build everything of thiers, right down to reconing the speakers. For the levels they play at (they hold the world record for loudest band) they would have heaps of power amps chained together. Aside from needing 50 billion watts of power :laugh2: the tone isnt that unattainable with alot of high gain amps. Have a search around that site & you'll pick up some good details though.

Dave is a great guitarist, but needs to find a new job because he is not a good teacher! His new band is pretty awesome sounding, sounds alot like a modern..ish Iron Maiden sound.

To play Manowar all you need is a magnificant loincloth. THAT is the secret to the sound which is too awesome to be recorded. But is it neccesary to tear off the previously and strategically ripped shirt before plugging in EVERY time you play? I mean, if you're in the middle of a 4 hour rehearsal, and you take a break, do you need to shred another shirt of you go out for a smoke break?
