Any opinions of the Mark Bass amps? What about the Randy Jackson model? features sound good. Cab seems kinda steep tho.
Ive played some of the smaller ones and they sound pretty impressive, but never got to try the RJ.

Re: Mark Bass amps?

cant answer that,

but I dig my GK ultralight 212 bassamp combo, weighs only 37 pounds and has a HUGE sound :)

I know mark bass is the higher end competitor of lightweight bass amps so I figured I better alert yall to that. I am gassing for their 410 ultralight; ya it is very basic configuration but still, it weighs only 40 pounds too!

Re: Mark Bass amps?

They are among the best values in the industry today. I have no experience with sig models, just the standard stuff.

Re: Mark Bass amps?

thanks! I played a couple yesterday. man, I was amazed how much low end the one put out since it just had a couple of 8 inch speakers..

Re: Mark Bass amps?

I'm interested in the Mark Bass amps too.
I plugged into one at GC one time. I think it was the Little Mark Tube. I was able to dial in everything from a somewhat sterile but clean sounding solid state bass amp tone to a real rich, warm, tube tone using the VLE and VPF knobs. Very cool feature for getting different bass tones in a studio. You can certainly make a lot of adjustments at the amp, get a great recorded tone that's right for the song, and not have to fix it in the mix later.

I'm intrigued by the Randy Jackson model too. But I haven't seen one locally, so haven't been able to take a listen.

Re: Mark Bass amps?

gallien is releasing their new line of amps, I am gassing for them, 410 that weighs under 50 pounds etc

Re: Mark Bass amps?

they are great amps and very good value, at the studios I go to a fair bit the guys there have a few mark bass bits of gear, plenty of their cabs and a few heads combo's whatever they have there, they have tons of gear lurking around! very nice sound, I have to put them up top with Trace elliots as my favourite makes of bass amps.
