Re: marshall cab

hi guys..
please take a look at this page:
http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/1654-official-pics-o-my-guitar-thread-111.html
there's a picture of some EB EVHs ,with a peavey 5150, and with what seems like a marshall cab.. i love that grille! very classy, can someone give me some information about that cab? what's the model, what drivers inside, does marshall still make that cab today?
If its 100% stock, its a pretty pricey Marshall brown basketweave ( as opposed to grey salt and pepper basketweave) grillcloth cabinet that was used with the vintage Plexis ( like Van Halen played). Or it could be a reish with the G12-H30's.HERES an original vintage one taht sold for 2800.00 ----
"Marshall 1968-'69 4x12 Basketweave Straight Front Cab w/ Pre-Rola 25w Greenbacks

'71 003 cone pre-Rola 25w greenback speakers that are non-original, cab has push-in non-original casters, birch back, metal handles and metal caster cups, grill cloth has no rips and is pretty faded with a reissue logo, cab structure wise is very good and sounds great!

Re: marshall cab

It looks to me to be a regular old JCM 800 1960 cab from the 80's. Alot of those 80's black grill cloths faded to a brownish color over time.

Here's one on EBAY

Re: marshall cab

The size of the logo indicates JCM800 era, if it's the original logo. Vintage cabs from the 60's and early 70's had small logos.

Re: marshall cab

hmm.. is there any chance i could just buy regular 1960AV cab and "brown" the grille? what's the best way to do that ?
I'm really considering to buy one of my friend's Mesa Single Rectifier series 1, i think it would look just sexy on top of that marshall.. hehe..
