I dug em a lot. More vintage voice. If 80s metal is what you want then the SLX 900 is the way to go.

Well, is it a good amp just in general? because I found one pretty cheap that might still be for sale.. If I want more gain I guess I could always use a pedal??

I used one for years, you can get some good sounds out of em.

I tested it out the 4101 using a LP standard. I believe the 4100 is the HEAD

The good thing for the clean is that it has a "presence" knob, which i believe the 4100 has. If not, my bad
As for the distortion, its as good as the rest of the marshalls
