I recently bought a 2203 reissue. It sound good, not as good as my modded 87' 2203, but good. What model 2203 is this supposed to be a reissue of? I know theres been changes to the design over the years, and the gurus say one year is better than the rest. So if you're familiar with the Marshall reissues, I'd appreciate some input. And BTW, this is by no means a diss to any production run that Marshall made of the 2203 series. I love the head, and I have always wondered what it exactly was going on with it...considering new models are upwards of $2600. Thanks guys.

They are, I believe, a reissue of the 81-84ish 2203, but with an effects loop. To me they don't quite sound the same, but close, whether this is because of the brands of tubes, bias settings, addition of the loop, or some other slight component differences idk. Normally I would prefer the early 80s 2203 to the later ones, but with yours being model maybe not, guess it would depend on the mods.

Yeah, I believe they are based off pre 84 as well but with the FX Loop. I own 2 84 800's (2204, 2210) and I think the price for the reissue is outrageous.
