friends, i was at my dealer's to purchase some strings but ended up lugging this home as well...

many of us here would dismiss this amp after reading it's from the MG series by Marshall. it's nothing fantastic but it impressed me enough to buy it. if you have bitter encounters with the MG combo, this one might make you smile. it's not leaps better than the combo version, but the 2 x 10" are attributable factors in making it sound better.

anyone else tried/ bought one?

Re: Marshall MG15MSII Micro Stack

Haven't played that particular model, but I used one of the old Lead 12 Micro Stacks many years ago. It actually sounded really good. Had a distinct Marshall sound when cranked. Never played it clean much, don't really remember how the cleans sound. Cranked it was killer :)

Re: Marshall MG15MSII Micro Stack

I think it looks cooler than it sounds. Everytime I see one of those next to a Real Full Stack, It reminds me of a Poodle next to a Doberman.

But I'm sure the 2x10 closed back cabs give it a different tone. Might be cool for recording purposes. Maybe it'll give you a unique recorded sound?

Re: Marshall MG15MSII Micro Stack

yeah, those closed back cabs made a diff. i auditioned this stack & the combo version side by side, the former is a notch better tone-wise... :)
