Marshall TSL 60W

hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone owns the Marshall TSL 60W or 100W Head? I was wondering if 60W of tube amp would be loud enough to play live with?

Thanks!

Re: Marshall TSL 60W

I have a TSL122 that I'm looking to unload. I pull two of the tubes and run it at 50 watts and it is still plenty loud. The one thing I don't like about the TSL60 is the shared eq. However I think there are better heads to be had in that price range, I'm trying to unload my TSL, but I haven't gotten a chance to get out and decide for what I want to.

I saw Bruce Kulick play live, he used a 60 watt TSL half-stack, it was plently loud, and damn did he sound good :13:

Re: Marshall TSL 60W

ive got tsl60head and use behringer 4x 10 cab. It is massively loud. If I was buying again I would only go for a 2 x 10 cab. 4x10 is way to much for practice, and the amp is way loud enough that it would only need 2 x 10 for gigging in my opinion. was using amp at about 3 and was competing easily with the rest of my band. hope that answers your question.

Re: Marshall TSL 60W

As far as loudness...yes the tsl is loud enough for almost every gig(unless you are playing stadiums......).

Re: Marshall TSL 60W

Ya man, 60w is tonnes of juice for dirty stuff. Only two things. 100w Marshalls have a little more edge and roar to my ears, where 50-60wt break up more smoothly (just my opinion). I guess if you need to play really loud clean parts over top of someone else's distorted sound the 100w might be useful, but I seriously doubt that there is mutch of a difference there.
