First of all, a million thank yous to The Guy Who Inveted Fire and Kevlar3000, thank you guys for "talking me into it." Finally got a chance for a first test cruise. I thought of it as of just a device that brings your monster halfstack mettalizers to bedroom volume. But I can see how this could be a huge tone enhancer. The amazing: I turned MV on my AOR to 5(12 o'clock) with bass and treble pulled and turned up almost all the way to 11 and enjoyed at a bedroom volume!!! Those who are familiar with these "vintage" Laney beasts know what that means. A mirralce. Now, MassLite has two knobs, Lows-Mids and Mids Highs, I guess Lows mids knob works like a volume knob and Mids-highs like a tone knob of sorts. The Mids-Low I kept pretty much to under 1, other wise my neigbors would be very well aware that "I am into Metal." My Mids-Highs is at about 6-ish. I can totally see how I can offset MV of the amp vs. Low-Mids on MassLite and bring it up to gig levels and still sqeeze some juicy tones out of the AOR that are not there at same level of MV, kind of like post Power amp variac. I can only imagine what a real MASS can do with all the tweaks that it offers. Thank you guys!!!
