Master Series/ Parallel Switch so both Pickups go into Series with each other.

So , assume a 335 Type , thicker body.

2 Humbuckers with Dual / Single coil switches.
Thinking of a master series/ parallel switch so that no matter what combination of -
Humbucker /Single coil is dialed up ...
BAM - can be in Series ....
For a much darker fatter sound - kind of like a 175 with more sustain .

Also curious - even with the Bridge PU volume turned low - it should still load the Neck PU and mute highs in Series Mode ( higher impedance - right ? ).

Anyone ever tried or heard this on a 335 or maybe a Les Paul ( so that nearly clean tones can be very Phatt - then back to normal at flip of switch ) ?

Will it work ?

The tech would use pull pots for dual to single coil ...

And a toggle for Master Series /Parallel ?

Er, this is what is in the Jimmy page wiring.
So yes, plenty have heard of this, and done it.

The JP wiring uses a PP for the series parallel for both pickups too.

PU's linked in series, used it in the Jimmy Page system. Too dark with both HB's in full HB mode, but a viable option when the neck's in coil split. Series also gives out-of-phase a much-needed volume boost. You can also link P-90's in series too as it only uses a hot & a ground wire.
