Matching up inherited pup's

I inherited a 1990's MIJ Dinky (basswood, Floyd, maple w/ rosewood) with a swimming pool rout, a Screamin' Demon and a Hot Rails. The current pickguard is HSH and the prior user had the SD in the bridge and the HR in the mid. Any suggestions as whether that is a good setup. If so, what to put in the neck. If not, how would you shuffle them and add a third? Looking for a power and shred sound, like Petrucci (without his talent).
Thanks.

welcome to the forum!!

the demon in the bridge and the hot rails in the middle sounds fine. what type of sound do you want from the neck? a cool rails or something like that might be a good choice

Re: Matching up inherited pup's

I was thinking a humbucker with good harmonics. Since it's a Jackson, I'd like to make it squeal like a little piggy. Have been thinking about a Dimarzio PAF Joe or something like that.

Would the Cool Rails be a little too light for that? Suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

Marty
