Re: maybe

Oh well. The new strap pics didn't show. yet. Just black. Like a guitar oughta be. That's a lie-I love red and blue and gray and seafoam and. . . . The gold knobs are temporary, they will be chrome like the nonblack rest. Jeff didn't even tell me about the mother of pearl-what a great surprise. He has played this guitar for like 10 years-I took it out of the HSC and tightened up the strings, and tuned it by ear. It was like losing my virginity (yes I can remember that far back), and felt like silk, even with it being PLAYED. And, he didn't tell me he was the original owner-one of his friends tattled. I couldn't be happier.

Re: maybe

I'm definitely tired of the motion picture bizniss, but I have to say I got a one of a kind, 3 /12 padded strap with hand laid chevrons (all black of course) Walker & Williams for $30. Beat that.

I think I buy guitars just so I can go to W&W

Yep, that just has the Hardtail logo at the 12th fret. It has dots for the other markers. Abalone inlay on the headstock just like on the USA models. Dean really gave these nice appointments for Korean built guitars. However, the Koreans build fantastic guitars, second only to Japanese IMO. China the worst.

The USA headstock and fretboard look like this, which other than the fretboard inlays don't look that different from the Korean models:

Re: maybe

I like that
Abalone is nice

Does it just have the spiral eye at the 12th fret?

Thanks, I didn't know what that was. Yes, only there. The dots are also. And you saw logo on headstock. I guess that means no!
Shoot, I didn't even know what that was on 12th-I thought wings were logo.

Re: maybe

Glad you're in love. I supply guitars that evoke emotional responses. Just so you know, that inlay at the 12th fret is called the "Hardtail" logo. On standard USA Hardtail's and the Exotic Collection, the logo is half abalone and half sterling silver. On the numbered Collector's edition guitars, all of the markers, including the "Hardtail" logo at the 12th fret are ALL sterling silver. In the pics above the amber colored guitar, you can see that all of the inlays are silver. The other pic is my blue standard which has abalone inlays.

I have 2 standard series left, one exotic and I just sold my only Collector's edition. I lost my shirt but I needed to sell it. When all is said and done I'll end up with one standard series and one exotic series Hardtail.... my two favorites out of the one's I've owned; not including yours. I logged a lot of hours on that guitar when it was all I had to play. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Sorry to hit "Quote" but every time I don't I end up somewhere strange. Well I'm sorry you had to sell. I thought you had the grand plan for the guitar of all time. Really sorry. If you decide you miss her too much, I'd give her back to you. I can SEE how much you played together. (I'm thinking, like a teddy bear).

Re: maybe

Now that is a great looking guitar texred of the howling blue jays! That guitar is simply gorgeous and it's a winner for sure. I hope you have many years enjoyment out of your new axe...it's a keeper!
