McCarty... UGGGG!

I know there are quite a few threads on PRS McCarty's on here but I thought I'd reach out for more selections.

I'm looking for a set of pickups that will brighten the McCarty. I've adjusted the stock PU's so many times but they're still muddy and they just don't seem to cut through the mix well. I'm looking for something that will split well and play nice with my Mesa F50. I do the cover stuff and I hit everything from Beatles to Lady Gaga and all point in between.

Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards the Saturday Night Specials right now.

I was going to recommend a set of Saturday Night Specials until I saw you were leaning that way, great pickups with less bass than A5's but with more mids and slightly rounder highs.

I fitted the WLH set to my McCarty, and then replaced the bridge pickup with a '59/Custom Hybrid. I was playing in a covers band that covered a lot of ground and found that I could pretty much cover all tones required with that set up. Both pickups split really sweetly too. I could get from Muse's Plug In Baby to The Pretenders Brass In Pocket using that guitar and a couple of stomps on my pedal board.
