I'm wanting to put low gain BC109B transistors into wah pedals to replace the high gain ones, and I'm not sure how to test their HFE on a multimeter. I've put the red lead on the B and C pins together, and the black lead on the E pin. The transistors I'm testing are supposed to be 200 - 450 HFE and I'm getting readings in the low 700's.
