Looking for a bridge pickup for my Strat. There's a Fender Tex-Mex in there now and I find the sound is a little shrill; too much high end and mids. I'd also like a little more output as well but would still like to retain the position 4 "quack" that Strats get.

Suggestions?

Re: Meatier than a Tex-Mex

My faves would be the Duncan Twangbanger or Antiquity Texas Hot Custom.

Curly seems to like the SSL-3 alot. Never tried one.

The JB JR. is the obvious choice and for soloing tones that'd be a great one. But it doesn't blend with the middle pickup and chime the same way as a single coil would.

I do not hear any quack in the #4 (M&B) or the #2 (N&M), BTW. I hear quack as being a sound a duck makes :laugh2: and I've never heard a Strat sound like a duck regardless of the pickup combination.
