medium jumbo or jumbo?

When I ordered my carvin I opted for the stainless steel frets in medium jumbo because it was the only size they have rather than regular frets in jumbo which is the size I would have preferred. How much of a difference can I expect? Any of you guys use that size?

It was more important to me to have stainless frets rather than jumbo and that's why I chose it. I really wish Carvin offered jumbo SS frets but I don't see that happening anytime in the near future.

I prefer medium jumbos. Vintage frets don't give me enough leverage on a bent note, and jumbos are only cool when they're crowned really well, otherwise they feel too different from all other guitars. Just my opinion though.

It depends on the measurements...some medium jumbos are very small, while others are fairly tall. Personally, I prefer my frets wide and tall. Smaller frets are fine for rhythm work, but I can't comfortably play lead on smaller frets. That's probably because every guitar I've ever owned has had jumbos, and I learned to play on them from the beginning. If you try to switch from small frets to large frets, it takes some getting used to because the tendency is to fret the strings too hard, causing the note to go sharp.

Did you try Warmoth or USACG? Both places offer necks with jumbo stainless steel frets. I have a Warmoth neck with jumbo stainless frets, I've decided that I like them, but they do add a tad bit of brightness to the sound. Not a lot, but enough to cause problems if the guitar was already very bright to begin with.
