Meet the Twins

Brought the Explorer home this weekend. We set it up yesterday and it's sweet. It'll make a nice companion for the SD-equipped Flying V.

 Need to find a gold colored whammy bar for it. Pickups sound fairly good, but I'll probably pull em and put in some Duncans.

Slightly better pic.

Re: Meet the Twins

Pretty sweet! What kind of wood are they made of? Oh and which duncan are you gonna use?

Re: Meet the Twins

Thank you. Thank you.

You know, I have no idea what kinda wood. I'll have to research and get back to you. They got good tone.

As far as one of the Pups for Explorer, I'm thinking a Distortion bridge. Haven't made up my mind on the neck pup.

Please give me your recommendations for pickups.

muttznmongrelz, interesting. Have to see if any guitars down at the store have these particular pups. They have the sampler disk hooked up to a CD Player, with phones, and the chart/wheel. They're selling Duncans.

Now have two nominations for the Distortion.

Re: Meet the Twins

My second guitar was a black Aria Pro II Explorer. Don't remember much about it, though.

Re: Meet the Twins

I used to drool over the ads for those in guitar player when they first came out. Very cool looking set.....sh*t, I think I feel a GAS attack coming on.

Re: Meet the Twins

are those Aria Pro II's? I work with a guy who would absolutely flip **** if they were.

Yes, they both are. The V is basically my setup. The Explorer is pure stock.

Re: Meet the Twins

Now, there's a Pro II Cobalt Blue Strat Type down at the store, no guts. I'm already wanting it.

Re: Meet the Twins

Drool! ! Ive always wanted one of explorers like that!! never played one to know if Id like it or not..

Re: Meet the Twins

Cool. My first guitar was an Aria Pro II. I still own it. Great guitars. There's a cool, single humbucker, Strat-style 80's Aria on the bay right now that's going super cheap. Would make a cool project guitar.

Re: Meet the Twins

Dudes, they're great guitars. The necks are fast, and just right for me.

Aria does good stuff. I really don't understand why the V was stripped of everything, including the claw and springs, and sold to me for a mere $35. It stays in tune forever, has Satriani action, plays nice. The explorer is more unwieldy to handle, but has the same neck, and once I get a good strap on it, I'll be playing it more.

Man, they're a collection unto themselves.

Re: Meet the Twins

Anybody ever see one, bass or guitar, please let me know.

There's a blue strat like Pro II down at my hangout that's on the back wall. All the hardware, pups, tuners, in a plastic bag. I just might have to buy it.

I'm going out of my mind buying guitars guitars guitars.

11 and counting. They're almost as sexy as a sweet A$$ed woman.
