Megadeth - Hangar 18 (half cover with VOCALS)

NUNOSLASH

New member
So...since i went to see Megadeth in June i wanted to do a cover of them, so i half-learned Hangar 18, but not perfectly (thats why there's no outro solos, and some of the first part riffs and solos are sloppy as hell)

The guitar vocals thing didnt work well with this tune, so i decided to SING!!
Yes, i dont sing ever and dont like my singing, but it sounded empty without anything...

Tell me what you think

Re: Megadeth - Hangar 18 (half cover with VOCALS)

hey Bro! no worries.. I cant really offer a critique at this time. The recording didnt come thru very good. (for me anyhow) Maybe its cuz its early and I cant crank it up, but I really cant hear the vocal enough to make it out and the lead was kinda drowned out too.. Ill give another whirl after work with more volume and check it then.
I applaud you for going for it with the singing anyhow!!

Man that's never an easy song to tackle, so kudos to you for doing it. The vocals sound like Lemmy...

Re: Megadeth - Hangar 18 (half cover with VOCALS)

Bro , I can remeber the first days you posted some covers ,and I allways tried to help you.
As you can see ,i didn't posted on your threads for a loong time.

I think you improved yourself a lot. But I would advise you to stop covering ,and record/write your originals.
You are not Mustaine ,nor Friedman. Your style is totally different ,therefor it's hard to get the vibe of the song. It's obvious that Thrash is not your style ,and the soloing is out of your control (I know that feeling really well).
You sing it really well and i think with proper recording ,you could even be better than Musatine (I know not that hard to be better :D)
But please do yourself a favor, and begin to make your own music and post it here. I will be glad again to lisen to your stuff! It can be awesome to create your wons style!
Cheers!!! :D

Total Motorhead vocals...Don't hurt yourself.

daemon, I agree he's got some issues with thrash rhythm guitar, but I thought his solos were very nice. Tone was very good. It was clear, he was trying to play the solos note-for-note, and would occasionally mess up. But he improvised well enough to still sound good. Totally captured the laid-back , relaxed Friedman style, and seems quite comfortable with it.

Nunoslash: definitely start writing your own stuff. Don't worry about what style or genre....Just play YOUR stuff.

Re: Megadeth - Hangar 18 (half cover with VOCALS)

I thought the vocals and the solo were excellent. Granted I've never really given the actual song a good listen. I would have you sing in my band any day. I love that scratchy voice you've got, it would be perfect for punk or metal. My band has been looking for a singer with something like that for over a year now. All we get is crooners who sing flat.

Wow thanks a lot everyone!!

I have to admit i need to doing originals BUT my main problem all this time is that i dont have any way to record drums...i dont have a drumset, i dont have drum software and i NEED drums...
Maybe its a cheap excuse, but i really cant find a good drum software FOR FREE, i dont own a credit card so i cant buy online, and i live in Peru, so they dont ship here...

I dont like to download programs illegaly so please if you can help me find a good drum software ILL START DOING MY OWN SONGS!! haha

Thanks again everyone!
