Megaswitch-E with push/pull - wiring problem

Hello everybody!

I have a problem with the wiring on my Brian Moore C90P.13 guitar. The pickups are Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge, Alnico II Pro APS-2 in the middle and Alnico II Pro APH-1N in the neck position, switcher is Megaswitch-E model. There is only one push/pull pot and that is tone control. I must add right here that for some reason BM use different/reverse naming for switcher positions. In this case, on diagrams position 1 is in fact NECK and position 5 BRIDGE pickup... don't ask why, don't know :)

Factory wiring looks like this:

but when I pull my tone pot OUT I would really like to get this instead:

And this Megaswitch is killing me. I'm not really sure if this is possible at all.

I got inside the cavity a wiring looks like this:

Can somebody help me please?

Re: Megaswitch-E with push/pull - wiring problem

Welcome to the forum.

Your question is a tricky one, not least because Schaller recommends the switch for HSS and SSS pickup configurations only.

Your preferred wiring idea may require a four-pole, five way, 24-contact megaswitch.

Re: Megaswitch-E with push/pull - wiring problem

I have to agree with Funk here
the factory wiring has the push/pull as a "bridge always on" switch

what you want is neck split in the first position
ie
00-0-01

and all on but neck split in position 2
11-1-01

this is do-able with a 4 pole 5 way
but I just cant get my head round how to make the megaswitch do that

Hey vrooman. I got your PM, but I agree with funk and ed . . . a superswitch would make this a whole lot easier. I hate those mega-switches. Their contact configuration just doesn't make logical sense. (At least, to me.) However, let me chew on this a bit before I throw in the towel.

Re: Megaswitch-E with push/pull - wiring problem

I think the easiest way to do it would be to defeat the bridge single coil in position 3, someway - either with another push/pull, or a mini SPST switch.
