Alright guys...I'm trigger happy with this writing stuff! This one is more of a melodic rock with a metal vibe to it type of track, let me know what you think!

Recorded with my trusty C-1 Classic and TS-9/PODxt combo, via USB again. No bass yet, might add that later. Also might lower rhythm guitars in the mix.

Quadtracked, and I can provide the tones if anyone wants them. They aren't what you think they'd be, actually.

Melodic rock, you say? I thought that it was 100% metal!

I have to say, which is unusual from me, that you do do quite well for a 14 year old! You must get tired of hearing that all the time, or do you get all warm and fuzzy inside when people say that? Remember: you clearly got the talent to learn to play guitar. It's only up to you!

And the track, well, it rocked. Maybe a few bigger catches to make it even better, but if it's intended to be with vocals it doesn't matter that much.

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

holy... I want a podxt.

This SLAYS Jeff. My favorite by you so far. I agree with bumping rhythm down a couple db but the bite they have when up like that is a good thing this time.

Damn DSS, that's great. You have been recording some wicked stuff lately. Rock On :headbang:

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

Haha thanks much guys!

Johtosotku, I don't get tired of it really, but I prefer to be considered "good," not just "good for my age." Given my age, it kind of puts a damper on the compliment. :laugh2: It is intended to have vocals over it, which might call for extending it some, but I'm not sure how I'll lay those down...Maybe I'll break down and do them myself.

Amir, yeah they do bite! I'll add bass today and lower them down, after school. I'm totally in love with this XT!

Don't worry, you're "good" as well. Much better than me, ha!

Balls to the wall!

Balls to the wall!

Might I say, I may not rock it that much anymore (or at least at the momment... the momment spanning like a year or so); Anyway excellent work, you got me rocking out man... But... all good things need criticism... Needs more cowbell.
Heh; just playing... But seriously, more cowbell.

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

kinda detected an iced earth feel in some of the riffs
very good playing though

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

Thanks much guys! I haven't quite added bass yet, maybe this weekend. Wrestling has me tired as hell, and I've had a bunch of homework lately.

Nah doesnt need any, all it would need is kick-ass vocals IMO

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

Dude, now that I'm about done with the track I was doing I'd love to do vocals for this. Haha not that my voice is all that great but I sing relatively in tune these days. Hit me up if you're interested.

:wrf: im sure the whole "hey lets make it sound like im singing face down in a bathtub filled with 2 inches of water" was a unique idea at the time but it may have been a teeny bit overproccessed. (okay dude dont prosses your voice like that)

oh well i guess after 5 years of chronic smoking and drinking your voice would be passible for the metal scene :laugh2:

Re: Melodic Rock/Metal, New Tune!

Go for it, Amir! I'd love to hear it!

Tux, to be honest, I think if I had a real mic and ways to get it to the computer (that was a crappy 20 dollar nady 3 pack mic into my POD), that my voice would be pretty damn good over my tracks; it's a passable growl :-p.

That is exactly why I don't display my age.

The track rocked BTW, I liked it better than your others... sounded less death metal to me (not a death metal fan).

so did the POD do the distortion. In my experience you really dont need much in terms of mic quality to get that great of sound ive done okay with a $8 radio shack mic hooked to the mic slot but i never tried singing with it.

Stop bying so much sh*t (amp, shrecters) and maybe you could afford a mic
;) (just a thought)

Sweet. Wanna write out some lyrics? I can if you don't want to but it does feel odd putting words to someone elses song.

Hehe I might have to do that; but honestly, there's no point until I get a Mac.
