Meow....

I gotta stop looking at craigslist. :eyecrazy:Could'nt pass up this deal, it was hardly played, a girl took a few lessons and gave up. Took out the crappy pickup and pot, made a tusq nut, it was big time outta intonation, I tuned up and any chord sounded like crap...polished the frets, gave the neck a Kiwi tan, complete setup and it rocks. I never liked a bridge pup for cleans, it's still bright, I sunk the pup and buried the pole screws, but it's good enough for a backup. Sounds sick with the Orange gain, I may use it for a set or two...NO swimming pool route, I may put a neck pup in...I had to drill as the pup adjusting screws bottomed out....not sure of the wood, but it was reddish like mahogany.

Re: Meow....

helloooooo kitty. I would love to see someone really shred on it. I'm thinking santana....

Re: Meow....

My daughter is only 2, but she loves hello Kitty and seems to like when Daddy plays guitar. I'd like to get one for her if she someday plays.

Re: Meow....

My friend here in town has one of the pink ones...he put in a pickup from a late 60s SG, and wired in a tone control...it sounds WAY better than the price point would lead one to believe.

Re: Meow....

Thanks guys. The stock pup was annoyingly super bright...10K, so I drop in the High Order 8.9K and it tamed it a tad, but it's just a bright guitar I guess. Had to tweak the amp EQ, but it sounds brutal. Think yer right Lats...had to google it...
The timber is generally straight-grained and of fine quality with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and rot resistance, making it ideal for yacht hull construction. The wood is commonly used in the manufacture of low priced guitars due to its good resonating properties, yet relatively low price of production.
The Kitty is very well balanced, I still dislike Strats and love my LP's, but it's a kool axe..it's so cute! haha

I'll say one thing. I have a Hello Kitty, and its a pure toy. Someone musta totally reworked that neck, cause IMO theres no way on earth he does that with even a well set up Kitty neck. They are just pretty much junk IMO, and in no way shape of form could you get that kind of shred action.
As far as pickups, I put a lawrence in mine, and still bright, but spanky and sparkly. Im ditching both mine ( one mint, one player) in a package deal. I dont need a toy guitar, and definitely not two.

I think it's really more likely that he just practiced playing guitar for a while and got kinda good at it.

Re: Meow....

Have to agree with MM, the neck feels really cheap, worlds apart from my LPs. I played a lot of fenders and this one just feels bad for any kind of solo runs. It's chunky and is good for bashing rhythm chords. I don't know if the frets are vintage or med-jumbos..kinda weird size...but it's a fun axe fer sure...I may swap a better neck down the road. I love low output pups with my rig...anyone know if a high output would fatten up the tone? I have a Dunc Custom I could try...
