Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne.

Just a quick question for all you Boogie Guru's.

I saw an ED advertised as a 'Version 2'.

I always thought there was only one head version, i.e. the original.

Was there two diff versions then ?

IF so . . . can you guys please tell me the diffs between version 1 and version 2.

Much Appreciated

;)

Re: Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne.

I don't know for sure but there is (or was) 2 different head sizes. the chassis and everything are exactly the same but the enclosure is just bigger. Mine is the smaller one and is very similar in size and shape to an orange head.

Re: Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne.

The second version has a volume pot on the back of the amp for the clean channel. It allows the clean channel volume to be adjusted in relation to the two distortion channels. I believe this feature is what's referred to as the version two. The version one doesn't have this feature, though the two versions do sound the same.

With out this volume control, it is very difficult to balance the three channels volume, especially in a live setting.

See page 20 of the manual.

Ahhh, GREAT . . . thank you very much !

Does it allow you to get diff gain structures in the clean channel ?

Re: Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne.

OK, so i looked at images on the net, and some have that trim knob on the back, and some do not.

Can anyone else help with more info on this extra edition to the amp.

Can you use this to adjust your tone/crunch, or is it solely a volume thing ?

It is only used for the clean channel volume. Does not change tone or add/subtract any gain. Just think of it as a way of turning up or down the volume on the clean channel.

GREAT . . . thank you very much !

So, the way i understand it is : no matter which one i buy, the V1 or V2, the tone will be 100% the same on all channels.

Looks like i can get a bit of a deal on a 'V1' head, so i might pick it up sometime in July !
(...if the seller does not change his mind)
