wow i just got this thing and it sounds amazing when its cranked up on the solo channel it did sound pretty crud wen quiet though but once turned up it came in to life ALTHOUGH i do think it could do with a little something to make it a bit more modern for playin mudvayne trivium killswitch kinda stuff i think it need more gain so has any one got any suggestion of what pedal to use with this to make it just th little bit more modern sounding ?

If you want modern sounding in the sense of Rectifier, the V-twin is the wrong bus to get on.. the V-twin sounds much more like a Mark series than a Recto.
Agreed on the tubes, if the character is generally what you´re looking for (doesn´t sound like it, though)
The switch on the bottom only swaps the blues and Solo channels around, though, and you can set the clean gain balane with the trim pot... nothing to make it sound "more modern" in any way....
And I second the grammar, you´ll get more and better answers if people can read and understand the question. Periods in particular work wonders.

Have to disagree on the Tubescreamer, SD Pickup Booster, OD-1 or whatnot... the V-twin´s "half-diode" circuit doesn´t take too well to boosters IMO, as well as that not really changing the way the amp sounds in any way....DeadSkinSlayer3 said:

Ah, I wasn't aware of it not liking a kick in the ass. I figured maybe he might want a bit more gain, but upon re-rereading the post, it sounds like he's trying to get a Recto/5150 tone out of a Markish pedal.

As much as i would love a 5150 it's not possible for me to have such a powerful amp, i play through an atomic 112 which has ample power for now, i love the bass and thump this thing has but it sounds too muddy/unclear for my tastes if it could be made to sound a little brighter/trebley without losing too much thump i may have found my perfect tone for me, if there is nothing i can do and the only option i have is to sell..... what else is out there with a good metal distortion and thump for palm mutes?, i like to sound bigger than i am :laugh2:
