Mesa Mark or Rectifier in a Pedal?

Re: Mesa Mark or Rectifier in a Pedal?

There is a pedal called the zombie that claims to be a rectifier for an all tube amp.

Actually 3 of Rocktron Pedals sound like rectifiers. But they just sound "like" rectifiers. The fullness and the loose ,overhelming bass response is not there. They are great devices ,but not enough close to call it"the rectifier" pedal.

But the V-twin is a Mark sounding pedal.Made by the same hands ,and voiced by the same ears!Really expensive ,but the only way to have a Marshall and a Mesa on the same amp!(real amp ,not LINE6 Stuff).Ask Zerb!

So, do you run it into the front end of your Marshall or into the power amp in (effects return).

That's agreat question.I would say both. With a line selector ,you can have 2 amps in one amp!But many people go with the first option.Clean Marshall channel with The V Distortet. The possibilities are really high!

You can use 2 eq pedals to make it even better.

The same thing is to have a Rectifier and using a Fet Distortion infront of it.

I love options!:smokin:

EQ can do so much. I think it is something that is definitely underutilized by many players!

So a FET-based distortion will give you a strong Marshall-like sound?

Re: Mesa Mark or Rectifier in a Pedal?

If the Mesa sound is the tone you are after, I would suggest just saving up and buying a Mesa. A pedal will NEVER sound as good as the real thing.

Re: Mesa Mark or Rectifier in a Pedal?

I would say save up. My Mark III blue stripe combo nails the Mark IIC+ lead tone and has killer cleans. Only cost me ?$600 used. As much and better than a Fender HRD!
