sorry bout all the amp questions everyone :laugh2: Whats a good mesa mark model for dark, heavy, liquid tone?

Re: Mesa Mark?

I would opt for the Mark IV. It will achieve the vast majority of tones of all of the Marks that came before it and then some. I have an original Mark I and a Rectoverb and I have owned all of the Boogies in-between, and I would suggest the Mark IV. It will give you more versatility, if and when your tastes change.

Re: Mesa Mark?

For *dark, heavey, liquid* there realy is only one choice in my poinion, Not a mark pre se', Mesa .50 caliber +, thry to get one of the older ones (although the fX loop needs major help in those, if you use it, it changes your tone ); they later ones fixed this, but didn't quite sound like the older ones. The cleans are dark also, even though they cut thru .... hard to explain. Get it with the graphic EQ only (actually, all the ones I saw had them, so maybe they came stock).

The Mark IV actually has the same Lead Channel circuitry as the IIC+, so that's always a great option if you can't find it on eBay.
