Wrong !!!

The correct answer was Mesa. Thanks for playing. OK, so I'm opinionated ( among other things ). In fact, I've never even played a Marshall. My Mesa F-30 wins anyway. Now go buy a Mesa.

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

Mesa is totally over Marshall, if u cannot own both a JCM800 and a Les Paul custom or SG custom :)

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

i see the point of both ... as a mesa owner, i made my choice for what fits my needs ... and i'll tell ya, the ch. 2 'brit' mode is hella cool on my roadster for doing a lil marshall crunch ... guys like blackmore and ace and gary richrath and buck dharma set me to diggin plenty of cool music made with marshalls .. gots no hate for em even if i dont plan to ever own one

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

Mesas are built better than Marshalls are. I like the tone of both...especially older Marshall's.

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

For my use and my money, give me a Mesa. I'm a recent Mesa guitar amp convert, and for quite some time have been an exclusive Mesa bass amp user.

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

i never really liked mesa

i'll take a smooth crunchy plexi over a brittle buzzy dual rectifier anyday

Re: Mesa or Marshall ?

Both suck, give me Engl instead :)
My Sovereign can do both the Mesa and the Marshall sound, while being tighter than both, not as dark and mushy as a Mesa and not as piercing in the high end as a Marshall.
My Powerball doesn't do Marhsall as good as the Sovereign, but it slays any Mesa at any given day
;)

:laugh2: not in my experiece, the roadking, triple rectifier, and dual rectifier that my bud got all successively broke, poped fuses all the time, and killed tubes overheating.

Then he got a diezel and had not problems. All the marshalls weve used never had any problems.

I used a Tremoverb combo for 11 years and gigged it every weekend...only had to change powertubes every 6 months or so. I haven't had that kind of luck with Marshall. :)
