Mesa V-Twin and V-1 Bottle Rocket

Anyone have any experience with either of these pedals?

What'd you think of them as a boost, overdrive, and/or distortion?

Good Points? Bad Points?

Cheers.

Re: Mesa V-Twin and V-1 Bottle Rocket

I've got a Bottle Rocket...it can be a little harsh by itself, but swapping out the tubes & putting an EQ after it can take care of those problems. I've read both good & bad, but I got mine when MARS went out of business...Bottle Rocket & a Boss EQ-20 for $200.00 out the door! For the price I got, I've got no complaints...it is a little pricey by itself, but it's built like a tank & will last forever.

I'm another one looking for a good description of the V-Twin here as well, as my amp up here right now doesn't have a distortion channel of any kind

Haha! I posted this on three boards and you're the first guy who knows anything about the Bottle Rocket!

I'll give a quick description, maybe you can give me an idea about if I'm looking in the right direction or not?

I'm looking at using it in a two channel Dual Rectifier. I'd like to be able to set my orange channel to a good rhythm crunch (med gain, mids slightly scooped) and use one of these to drive it into a lead tone.

Does the Bottle Rocket have a mid hump? I suppose I could EQ on in, but it would be better if it had one naturally.

Also, how does it sound on a reasonably clean channel?
