metal muff users

So I think I'm gonna get a MM with top boost pretty soon here. I wanted some of your opinions. From what I understand, the MM is not very much like the big muff or the other variants. What I wanted to know was how tight the distortion is on the MM. Will it handle drop tunings as low as A as well as fast picking? I hear it likes to be boosted with a TS, so I'm gonna put my keeley mod ts9 in front and see what happens. Any sound clips you could give would be fantastic.

Dude, Get it!!!

it's MUCH more versatile than believed. Better than the metal zone, that's for sure. It's tight, heavy and can handle low tunings. It's very thick and I notice no difference when I try to goose it with a bad monkey. That being said, it has more than enough gain on tap. I use it as my main distortion and reacts well to the volume control on the guitar. I almost don't need the bad monkey for low gain stuff.

Great freakin pedal!!!

Re: metal muff users

I have a Metal Muff and a TS9DX, but I haven't tried them together. I don't think the Metal Muff needs a partner. The Top Boost switch does that by itself, and it can be adjusted. I like the versatility from the numerous knobs of the Metal Muff, but I like the distortion sound of the Boss MD-2 better. The RockTron Zombie is a funky heavy distortion also.

Cool, I guess I'll have to pick one of these up. I think I got the idea to boost the MM wrong, it's the Big muff people do that with.

Exactly. I have the big muff pi, and with a good OD in front, it souds awesome. The MM on the other hand is a beast.
