Hey all.
One of my guitars was destroyed, the one I used for drop B. I view it as fate, I guess, because I wasn't particularly digging the tones from the EMGs in it.
However, I need to replace my guitar. It was the one I use for gigs and my other guitar is set up for a higher tuning and I don't really feel like screwing with the setup now that I have it perfect. I suppose this is also an excuse to get another guitar to satisfy my GAS, but it's also the way I pay bills, so there's that.
Getting into the meat of the subject, I'm buying an Ibanez S521. Thin mahogany body, three piece maple neck, rosewood board. String-thru hardtail, 24 frets, 25.5 inch scale length.
I don't want actives; I've decided that I'm a passive guy. I have a Black Winter set laying around from an impulse buy, but I haven't put them in anything because I fell in love with a Pegasus/Jazz combo in my PRS, which was what I initially intended to put them in. I'm gonna start with that, then work my way through my pickup collection of various Duncans and Dimarzios.
I figured I might as well ask you guys if you had any suggestions on pickups while I was at it. The guitar will be used exclusively for drop B/A#
