Metal pups for new guitar

Need a beater guitar quick, probably gonna buy this

ebony fretboard
mahogany body/neck, set neck
Tonepros tune-o-matic
grover tuners
coil split on tone knob

What pickup combo should I get for this guitar? I play mainly metal and shred, and I do need decent cleans.

Out of these four, for the bridge - Custom/Custom 5/Jazz bridge/Distortion - which one would suit best my needs?
Other recommendations would also be appreciated.

Sweet, Beyond Fear have a guitar?! Is that some kinda John Comprix sig model or something?

I haven't played all those pups, but a JB in the bridge would do you for Beyond Fear type tones. What does it come with stock? And why is Tim holding the guitar as if it's HIS sig model?

don't those come with duncans?...i played the c-1 classic, and it came stock with crome covered jb bridge, 59 neck set-up...really nice guitars for the money...

Someone enlighten me, is this a Beyond Fear guitar? I love BF and Tim's work in general.

I don't know anything about Beyond Fear, I just like that the guitar is all mahogany w/ an ebony fretboard.
I have a C-1 Classic and yes that comes with Duncans, this comes with Schecter pickups.
JB is one of the last pickups I'd consider for metal.

Cleans was the main issue....Custom turns down better IMO. But the Distortion is not bad and really articulate.

Custom, Custom 5, Fullshred, or Jazz bridge would all work- it really depends on the piece of mahogany. In my schecter the jb was too loose, the fullshred was great but had too much treble, and the jazz bridge is a thing of beauty. Custom 5 is the next pickup I wanna try in it cuz the guitar has a good amount of honk I sometimes wish was tamed and the c-5 has neutral mids. I'm also pretty curious about this new "alternative 8" bucker- looks wicked. As for the neck slot- you can't go wrong with a jazz. You just can't.

Get a Dime. Tight, full, and super aggressive with tons of output. Keep the split switch and you'll get decent cleans.

+1 on Custom, especially if you want decent cleans compared to a JB. Full Shred would probably be good to as a lot of Schecters tend to be on the dark side IMO.

I can make due with one but, I want a pickup that is a bit tighter for Metal than the 59.

I play through a Mesa Mark III.
Any representative characteristics of a Jazz bridge? I know you use it, how does it sound like in the bridge?

the 59B is certainly tight enough for metal sounds. i'm using one in a les paul custom (till my invader comes next week) and i have to say it definately does the trick. fairly close to the strings mind but not uncomfortably close.
good shredder too.
the only thing i would say is that everything is great at first but eventually you will want more power.

Zacky vengeance (A7X) uses a JB in his schecter so i wouldn't knock it till u tried it!!! i'd definatly stick to a mahogany body to make this work though.

Will you be playing more metal rhythm, leads, or cleans? The Custom is good if you need more rhythm and cleans. But I prefer the Distortion's lead tone and its rhythm is just as good if not better than the Custom, but its clean tone won't be as solid. If you don't play any cleans at all then an Invader could be a good option.

ya i'm in the same situation i got a 59B but crave more power for metal
Invader is the solution

The Invader cleans up surprisingly well, but more from the neck than the bridge. The bridge model is simply a powerhouse. I guess it all depends on the kind of metal you're looking to do.

I really liked the 59B, very easy to get along with and control. But like LPs said, you will want more power eventually. I loved the clarity I got with it, so to get what I wanted I went with Bill Lawrence in my Explorer, that is MY guitar... but everyone hears diff stuff. I just got a Boogiestreet import instigator that has an El Diablo (Iommi) in the bridge... this thing kicks arse man! Warmer than the BL, but different in a good way. Can't say I like it better, but it is very very very tight and articulate for me. Great for chugging and solos sound really full too.
