Do you guys record in the same room with your recorder,or is the recorder in another room when laying just a single guitar track down? I normally go straight into my 8 tracker with a Digitech GSP 2101,but this time I wanted to record with my Plexitone into my Marshall and Mic the 4x12 cabinet with an SM 57....Anyone?

Stevo,Jeff B......Help! :laugh2: :beerchug:

Re: MICd Out Amp Into Recorder?

I sit the same room. With limited space, and cable length, it's easier that way. HOWEVER, the bathroom is a great place for a mic'd cab or small amp. Lots of natural reverb. :D

Thanks Erik.....I'll just add a smidge of reverb during the recordings...

Re: MICd Out Amp Into Recorder?

I dig sticking the player in the same room with the amp whenever possible but that's not always possible! In cases like that, the amp is in another room so we can hear what it sounds like over the monitors. To get feedback in the control room you need monitors that can get REALLY loud and a splitter for the guitar. From the splitter run one output to the amp and mic & record it as usual. Take the other output and send it to a volume pedal and a small combo amp...when you need feedback just stand in front of the small amp and use the volume pedal.
