Microphonic pickups.

I installed a Wilkinson bridge pu in the neck on my tele copy and it is seriously microphonic. I love it. I could see it as a problem for performing live, but at home it's great.
Are there any Duncan pups that are microphonic?

What are the benefits, if any?

There's potted and unpotted. I don't believe microphonic pickups are a feature. If they are microphonic I would repot them.

Microphonic pickups are generally those with unpotted coils, less inherently capacitive, more sensitive (hence their "natural" tendency to squeal more easily under high gain) and 3D sounding. The honky tonal quality of Duncan SH55's has to do with that, for instance.

FWIW.

I once got a DiMarzio Super Distortion T that was microphonic. Sounded great, but it was defective. It wasn't supposed to do that. So I returned it.

I haven't tried many of the pickups that are supposed to be microphonic like the Seths. I'm sure they sound great.

My Dimebucker is all of a sudden starting to sound microphonic. It picks up every movement on the strings and I can hear clicking loudly when the pick hits the pickup. I have had that pickup in my Iceman since around 2008 with no problems.

Sure, microphonic pickups can be a great feature! It is why I love Antiquities and Seth Lovers so much. But generally, it is only a feature for dynamic playing styles with not a ton of gain.
