You can buy a Roland Hex pickup and connect to a Roland GR-20 guitar synth.

Hex pickup (Roland GK, Ghost, etc) >> MIDI converter/Guitar synth >> into computer via MIDI interface >>> route to plug-in module.

I think there may be a synth or MIDI converter now that has a USB port but I'm not sure. I'm still using Roland GR30.
