Mids ALL THE WAY

Re: Mids ALL THE WAY

ok, to quote what Jeff wrote,i´ll do a Anal Analogy/comparison about the in/ou movement , and to scoop or not to scoop the mids.
Think.. BASS-MIDDLES-HIGHS-> |^| What this figure looks like:?!
AN ASS!
so.. for the traditionalists out there, its like...if you just doregular sexy with your Partner(wife, girlfriend, lvoer, etc) it will be like tHIS(no sodomy indeed) , the scooped middles thing .
BUT, if you are a inovative guy and do the "Sodomy Lust " with your partner ... then it will be like this ^|!(WHAT THIS figure looks like? it looks like an ass, stuffed by a d|ck.so, it ilustrates the boosted middles graphic. and looks similar to a stuffedassby a d|ck) regular bass, Boosted middles and alittle raised highs
Enjoy fellows
HAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Mids ALL THE WAY

I'm not sure what the question here is, but ....

Depends on the player, guitar, amp, and room. Not every player's guitar will sound GOOD or "right" with an EQ of "X".

On my old amp, I had everything set between 2-5. On my new amp, everything is dimed. You have to use your ears and dial in the tone based off of what you're doing for.

There is a point when too much mid-push is no good, just like too much bass or too much treble. Even too much presence!

Word. I've heard too many guitarists with the mids and presence dimed and it is just as bad as scooped mids with booming lows and shrill highs.

Re: Mids ALL THE WAY

alrighty then cool, cause for a while i was kinda confused how people are like mids are your guitars sound and saying you should have it full then i put it to the 3 o clock area and it sounds like ****, thanks for summing that up for me... and twilight odyssey.. all your avatars are so epic it amazes me

Bit of a late response...

You have to admit, King and Hannemen are NOT the tightest rhythm players in the world, and the leads leave much to be desired.

Check out Lamb of God or Killswitch Engage's live DVD's to hear some TIGHT rhythm playing.

Polytonality means that you have multiple voices operating in different keys and modes. Igor Stravinsky is a good example of a classical composer who used it.

Sure...you can call it polytonality. Or you could just call it "playing in the wrong damn key all the time". :laugh2:

I seriously doubt King really goes that far into it. It sounds all like chromatics and divebombs. boring.

Except that I know both those bands and care for neither. :-D I love Slayer's music though.

I think their first album is great, and their albums since then have had a few redeaming qualities.

other metal bands I like:

metallica
slayer
agoraphobic nosebleed
pig destroyer
melvins
emperor
anthrax
converge
tool
meshuggah
nile

Sure, my exposure has been limited, but it's not as if I'm listening to music in a void.

Re: Mids ALL THE WAY

:jester: He is MIDly offtopic. Fine I shut up.

On the POD it sounds pretty cool whenever I push up the mids. I tried the Insane model with no mids at all then though eh, how about cranking them up... And yum...

Re: Mids ALL THE WAY

I think mids are important, especially in a band situation, but there are some people who still think no mids sound good.. I say it's only good when you're by yourself. LONG LIVE ASLAN... I mean mids :D
