Found a 90-91 MIJ Charvel ST custom on craigslist. Not much info online so I figured i'd turn to you guys! Finish is a see through tobacco brown color. 4 single sized humbuckers, staggered tuners. Anyway I can get the thing for $125. What say you? Turn and run? Buy it and run? I don't know a damn thing about Charvels!

I like how it has 2 singles in the bridge.

The more i think about it i really like it. Sure the headstock is probeish but who cares/

Not the nicest MIJ Charvel, but a great price for a decent guitar. All of these guitars had pretty bland stock electronics, so maybe consider that extra cost if budget is a possible issue.

I vaguely recall that the Charvel-branded pickups were actually Select-by-EMG. Budget to replace these.

If Funkfingers is correct, it might be a steal. But I would consider the price of pickup replacement just in case if you buy it.

I let it go. I just couldn't justify another guitar when I have 3 projects sitting around...

The "coil tap" is actually turning the inner single on/off. They used this dual-single config on a few different models, and that was the typical wiring scheme, as I recall.
