Hey all
I picked up a Classic Stack plus for the neck and a Classic Stack Plus RWRP for the middle for my MIM Roadhouse 2017 strat. What should I put in the bridge?
Torn between
1) The Custom Stack Plus: Slightly overwound, warm, lots of bass. This pickup has RAVE reviews.
2) The Hot Stack Plus: VERY overwound, tonnes of midrange. Basically a midway point between an SC and a Bucker.
3) The Li'l 59: Humbucker, a full, fat ol' 'bucker.
Experiences with them?
I hate the current bridge single coil (Fender Vintage Noiseless) which makes me want to avoid bridge single coils altogether but something tells me it's likely because the Vintage Noiseless pickups are particularly bad, more so in the bridge position, probably because they aren't even slightly overwound, and are silly scoped in the mids. Am I wrong? I am looking for a nice, versatile pickup that balances well with the classic stacks. I'm not biased in favour of either SC's or 'Buckers, I just want a nice versatile sound for playing a kind of progressive music that sits smack dab in the middle of rock and metal, I guess?
Cheers folks!
