Mini amp head suggestions wanted

Looking for something in the 15-20 watt range. Single channel is fine. Loop would be nice.
Tone I'm looking for would have the BEST Hot-rodded Marshall / JCM800+++ tone.
With all these recent mini amps that have come out in the last couple years, something should hopefully come close. I am fully aware that none of these will sound like a JCM800, I am reallistic. But what mini amp does it best.

The new DSL15H might be cool-but no loop.
Tweaker ?
Jet City ?
Tubemeister ?

I've heard good things about the mini rectifier, it can do some hot rodded Marshall stuff (very hotrodded haha) might be worth giving it a spin.

Not the most professional recording (it's done with a handheld recorder & no reverb/delay/other effects/backing tracks/pre-post production at all) but my little 15 watt Goldea Rex 3200 head has a big, round, warm fat sound with tons of gain....

Fargen Mini-Plex.

This is probably the best suggestion, however, you should consider a Tubemeister 36 or Mini Rectifier. The Tubemeister has a Marshall flavor but not exactly like a Marshall. It has a better clean channel than any channel switching Marshall in my opinion, and it also has a nice reverb which is a nice option to have.

The Mini Rect is a great, great, great little amp. Even though it doesn't sound like a JCM800, it growls, roars and squeals like one. The clean channel (clean & pushed modes) sound incredible, even better than the Tubemeister in my opinion. The vintage overdrive channel has a classic overdrive sound that's aggressive but can be made smoother. The modern channel is very aggressive but also pretty versatile.

I've been able to get a fairly good Marshall flavor out of my Mini Rect by using some Marshall flavored pedals like Catalinbread, HAO, Mad Professor, etc..., but the Tubemeister has an edge on the Marshall thing.

Tubemeisters come with a 1 or 3 year warranty, can't remember, but the Mini Rect comes with a 5 year warranty and is a US company. Both have great power options and great FX loops.

The problem with any low wattage amp is that EL84's are going to sound more congested than the JCM800'ish sound you're looking for. However, if you can get a Marshall 2061x cheap then I highly recommend it. It's handwired and blows away any of the EL84 Marshalls out there. Crank it up and you will have a superb cranked Marshall sound that's not so loud that you will get kicked out of venues. It's a loud 20w, but pretty easily controlled.

Other suggestions could be a Bogner Goldfinger which is pricy but sounds incredibly good and rich with awesome power scaling and built-in reverb. Then Budda amps are also good low-wattage amps with kind of a cross between a Marshall and Dumble flavor or something like that. It's hard to compare the Budda sound but they sound excellent.

The Vox Night Train fits size/power wise, but perhaps not Marshally enough to meet the requirement. It might be worth trying as a reference point though.

3 years warranty, after sending in the warranty card.
I got a/the certificate in 5 days.

I havn't played any of the other amps mentioned.
The stock tubes make it sound sterile/hi-fi.
I swapped mine with a JJ (from my Class5) and a EH 12AX7EH.

Less fizz and not as gainy (could be the missing fizz)

This is an excellent demo (I think, don't know the guy...).

P.S. Like any other tube amp, more volume makes a better sound (Not enough "master" and it's meh...)

I own a jet city JCA 22H which is not bad. I also own a 1990 Marshall JCM 900 Dual master.
Both are nice and have their place but I own a 3rd rig which kills um both for high gain crunch tones.
That amp is a 25 watt Zinky Blue Velvet combo. Bruce also builds this amp in a tiny little head. The tones are liquid, big, fat, fluid and incredibly expressive.
If you want a low wattage head that will flat knock you lights out with the tones every time you play through it nothing else is even CLOSE :fing2:!

I am fully aware that none of these will sound like a JCM800

This one will:

After some tweaking, we could not tell the difference between the mic'ed (Shure SM7 and AEA R84) sound of a JCM800 and this mini.

We tested this one and some other mini Marshalls A/B with their big brothers. Chief was curious of them pretty much as we could use amps for recording that start to sound big and full much earlier as some of our fav microphones start to "bow down" before a stadium-powered and seriously cranked 100W Plexi, for example.

An another shocking surprise, the 2-knob JTM1 sonically and for feel outperformed its big brother, an original MK II:

In a slightly different league, we tested an 1961X, too. Man I can't say anything else than it was a blast.

These won't scream off your head but sonically, they are awesome. Actually, the JTM1 and the 2061X were the best sounding Marshalls I've heard in a long while.

BTW, I was thinking of you guys here. If both the chief and the band (whose DI signals were used for the reamp testing) authorises to use some short samples here, I'll post some sort of review with pure sounds.

edit:

Here is a pic about the session. I hope soundclips will be available some time.

The pic is also proving that the British sound heritage was built upon a solid German base :D
