Mini Humbuckers in a Gibson Midtown Standard

I installed mini humbuckers in my Gibson Midtown Standard. The bridge pickup was wound by Ken at Rose Pickups. It's a hot alnico 2. The neck pickup was wound by Bryan at BG Pups. It's alnico 5. They sound awesome together. Installation was a breeze using GFS rings. I like those rings. There is no need to use tubing between the top of the ring and the humbucker itself.

Dude, I really, really like the look of that. Most wicked Midtown I have seen so far. If she sounds just as good, you got a keeper.

Dude, I really, really like the look of that. Most wicked Midtown I have seen so far. If she sounds just as good, you got a keeper.

It sounds and plays great. This guitar is definitely a keeper. And FWIW, I'm a dudette.

Sounds like a great combo. Did you just have them in a parts box or did you get them wound for the midtown? I'd be surprised if Bryan would turn an order around that quickly, but I know ken could. I didn't think you had the guitar for too long

I got the guitar in December. I had these pickups lying around. Bryan and Ken both wound these sets last year.
