What is the difference of Mini Humbuckers from regular humbuckers. Are they for blues, country. what? :eek13:

What is so special about them.

Re: Mini Humbuckers

mini-humbuckers are ... mini. they are much smaller than regular humbuckers. Look at a gibson deluxe, those have mini humbuckers. they are smaller than soapbars, but are meant for those cavities, if you have a mounting ring for it.

Re: Mini Humbuckers

There are two types of mini's. One is the LP Deluxe style and the other is the Firebird style. They both sit (tonally) somewhere between full sized PAF's and single coils, which makes the ideal where bothe clarity and beef are needed. The FB style is brighter and twangier. This is a good pickup to use in a tele's neck slot. I have a SM-1 in the neck of my Alleykat hollowbody paired with a PG+. I have both pickups set flush with the rings and they give me a woody, boxy twang remeniscent of a Gretsch when played clean in the mid position.

Yeah I agree. I think the FB mini's are far more versatile than the minis in a Deluxe. I have a SD firebird mini in a Tele with a hot rail and it just screams! Great pickup. THe best HB for Tele I've come accross.
