Recently I re-wired my PRS SE Custom 24.
After putting it all back together, I tapped each coil of each pickup with a screwdriver (as usual) to make sure the switching was working before re-stringing it.
One of the coils of the neck pickup was significantly quieter than the other so I thought it might be broken.
When I put the strings on, however, I was pleasantly surprised that it sounded normal (really nice).
Does anyone know if the PRS Vintage Bass pickup (SE version, if that matters) is wound in a way where the coils are mismatched in output quite a bit? Or is the pickup broken but by fluke still sounds good?
