Mod Question: Series/Split/Parallel - Question regarding switch choice.

Good Evening,

I have looked at the Seymour Duncan wiring diagram and it says if you desire series/split/parallel sounds to use a DPDT ON/ON/ON switch.

I was wondering if a DP3T ON/ON/ON switch could be used?

If it is not advisable to use a DP3T switch, I was wondering what would happen if someone modded with such a switch.

How many terminals does the switch have? If it's triple throw I imagine it would have 8 total? Something like that?

I imagine it can be done you'll just need some short lengths of wire to jumper a few things and a steady hand
