Modding a Caline/Joyo overdrive

There is no part of an overdrive circuit that I know of that would particularly care about the leakage of a silicon 1N4xxx diode. They are so un-leaky that they may as well be ideal in a guitar circuit.

Now I don't know everything about overdrives, hence my question
